101.Telehaptics
101. All in One, online edition of the festival, was focused around the affective infrastructures of telepresence. We investigate the world after these three months of unexpected postinternet and inspect what connects us now in this physical disconnectedness and which human properties can be translated through and into the communication systems: voice, emotional expression. Can we now feel touch over the distance and how likely will telehaptics become the future of human relationships.
Pangardenia
The Pangardenia project is made up of four paths: Parniki (artists at their homes; indoor gardening and other types of “capsuled” life), Abandoned gardens (semi-closed universities and ways for growing knowledge and art in lockdown), Wandering gardens (a site-specific artistic boat trip in collaboration with boat-drones), and Post(non)human gardens (new types of life forms, combining both human and non-human agents). One day for each path (subtheme) and a closing move of Pangardenia.
Private life of radiofrequencies
“The Private Life of Radio Frequencies” is an exhibition exploring the history of radio and its possible meanings and forms today. Most widespread and democratic, radio was the first wireless way of transmitting a sound signal over a distance. During the course of the twentieth century, radio communicated, propagated, guided and united people. For the first time it was possible to be together in solitude, radio delineated the changing soundscape of private space. In connection with radio, talk of Hertzian space, the totality of all electromagnetic waves emitted by electronic devices – a number of works visualize and voice these waves. Radio plays and radio nannies, concert broadcasts and morning exercises formed a common sound environment for Soviet citizens. The audioguide mobile app, which was developed specifically for the exhibition was designed to reinvent this shared sound environment. Gradually, software media gave way to platforms in which content was created by users. Now beyond commercial and ideological contexts, radio technology and the radio itself work with private meanings and becomes a tool in the hands of artists.
